If you are sexually active—whether you have had oral, anal, vaginal intercourse or genital touching—you can get a sexually transmitted disease (STD), also called a sexually transmitted infection (STI).
Not all STD’s have obvious symptoms and while some are easy to treat and cure, others require more complicated treatment. If an STD/STI remains untreated it can stimulate an immune response in the genital area or cause sores, which may increase the risk of HIV transmission. Some, if untreated, can also lead to infertility.
Your body and health are important to us and while we are not able to perform testing at our center we can give you all the information you need regarding the various STD’s along with referring you to a center that does perform the testing.
An abortion clinic may or may not perform STD/STI testing prior to abortion, but it is very important to get tested if you are considering an abortion. During an abortion, bacteria present could result in complications after the abortion, causing an infection.
